How we work as a Wix web design agency
When a Wix web design agency makes sense
As a Wix web design agency, we recommend Wix when a business wants bookings, payments, a blog and a website run from one dashboard, with no hosting to arrange. It works well for local services, clinics, salons, trades and small shops.
It's less suitable if you might want to change hosts later, need unusual integrations or are planning a large site with complex content structures. Those projects tend to suit WordPress, Webflow or Framer better.
Wix Studio for a custom build
Wix Studio is Wix's platform for agencies and enterprises, and for now it costs nothing beyond your Premium plan. It adds custom breakpoints, flex and grid layouts, and custom CSS for details a template can't handle.
Several people can work on a Studio site at once, which keeps reviews quick. Team members can be given roles that limit them to editing content, so the design stays protected.
Wix SEO, redirects and local search
Wix keeps a sitemap index current as the site changes, and submits it to Google once the SEO setup checklist is complete. Redirects live in the URL Redirect Manager and only work once your own domain is connected, which needs a paid plan. When a site moves to Wix, we keep old URLs where we can, redirect the rest and submit the new sitemap, because Google can take up to three months to recache a site.
For businesses that rely on nearby customers, page structure matters more than the platform. We build proper service and area pages and connect them with our local SEO work.
Where Wix holds you back
A Wix site has to run on Wix's servers, so it can't be exported to another host. Templates can't be swapped once a site exists either, which means a redesign is a new site with content moved across.
Ownership is simple, though. At handover we transfer the site into your own Wix account, and a Premium plan and domain bought through Wix move with it, so the site sits with your business once it's live.
Bookings, payments and the customer journey
Wix Bookings covers appointments, classes and courses, takes card, PayPal or in-person payment and can send email or SMS reminders to cut no-shows. Adding it is free, but the site needs upgrading before it can accept bookings.
We design the booking journey alongside the rest of the site, so service pages lead straight to a time slot and the booking form only asks for what you need. If Wix turns out not to fit, our Squarespace website design page covers a close alternative.
Tracking enquiries and looking after the site
We agree goals before launch, such as quote requests, bookings or calls, and check they're tracked. We already build and manage Wix Studio sites for clients, so updates and fixes can continue through our website maintenance service.
Wix Studio can also email monthly automated reports covering store, bookings and blog activity, which gives you a regular view without logging in.

Can you move our site onto Wix, or off it?
Onto Wix, yes: we rebuild the pages, keep matching URLs where we can and add 301 redirects for the rest to help protect rankings. Moving off is a rebuild too, because Wix sites have to run on Wix's servers and can't be exported.
Do you work in Wix Studio or the Wix Editor?
Mostly Wix Studio, which adds custom breakpoints, flexible layouts and custom CSS, and currently costs nothing beyond the Premium plan. We also build and manage Wix Studio sites for existing clients.
Which Wix apps will we need?
Often just Wix's own, such as Bookings, Stores, Blog or forms. The Wix App Market lists over 800 apps, most free to use, but we only install what your site will actually use.
Can we change our Wix template later?
Not on an existing site. Wix doesn't allow switching templates once a site is created, so a new design means a new site with content moved across, which is why we plan the design carefully up front.
Can a Wix site rank well on Google?
Yes, if it's planned properly. Wix keeps the sitemap up to date, lets you edit SEO settings on each page and holds up to 5,000 redirects; the rankings come from clear structure, useful copy and pages for each service and area.
Will we be able to edit the site ourselves?
Yes. At handover the site moves into your own Wix account, and we can set roles so staff who only change text and images work in content mode, leaving the design untouched. A client kit with short guides comes too.
