The detail
How our website maintenance services work
Who website maintenance services are for
Website maintenance services suit businesses whose site brings in enquiries or sales but who don't have a developer on staff. If updates get skipped, nobody knows when the last backup ran, or small edits sit in a queue for weeks, a monthly plan fixes all three.
We also take on sites mid-life, after the original builder has moved on. The onboarding audit tells us what we're inheriting before we change anything: which plugins or apps are installed, where backups live, who has admin access and what is already broken.
WordPress maintenance: updates, plugins and security
WordPress needs the most care. WordPress.org says older versions are not maintained with security updates, and that once a fix is released the details needed to exploit the flaw are almost certainly public.
WordPress has applied automatic updates since version 3.7, and since 5.5 administrators can switch on auto-updates plugin by plugin and theme by theme. We decide which updates run automatically and which we test first, remove plugins you don't use and keep regular backups of both files and database.
Shopify, Framer and Wix support
Hosted platforms need different work. Shopify is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant and provides free TLS certificates for every domain added to it, so our job is mostly theme updates, app reviews and checking that removed apps haven't left code behind, since uninstalling an app doesn't automatically remove it from your theme.
In Framer, every publish creates a version you can roll back to, and staging, available once a custom domain is connected, lets us test changes before they go live. Wix keeps a history of saved and published versions, but restoring one erases later changes, so we record what was edited before rolling anything back.
Monthly changes without a new project
Plans can include time each month for content edits: new pages, updated prices, team changes, blog uploads and small design tweaks. You send the request, we make the change and confirm when it's live.
When a change is bigger than a tweak, we scope it separately so it doesn't eat into your monthly time. If the site has outgrown small fixes, a website redesign may be better value, and we'll say so.

Monitoring, speed and reporting
We monitor uptime, test contact forms and checkouts, and check page speed periodically, because slow pages and broken forms cost enquiries quietly. If we spot a Core Web Vitals problem, website speed optimisation can fix it properly, and technical SEO covers crawling or indexing issues.
Each month you get a plain-English report covering what we updated, what broke and how we fixed it, what we changed for you and what we recommend next. Anything that needs a decision from you goes at the top.
What we need to get started
Admin access to your site, hosting and domain, plus logins for any plugins, apps or analytics. A list of the changes you already know you need helps us size the plan.
Not sure where the logins are? Tracking them down is part of onboarding, and we keep a record of every account so access isn't lost when people move on.
01 — Audit
We audit your site first: platform, hosting, plugins or apps, backups, access and anything already broken.
02 — Protect
We set up backups, uptime monitoring and the right access, then fix any urgent issues the audit found.
03 — Maintain
Each month we apply updates, test key pages and forms, and work through your change requests.
04 — Report
You get a short monthly report of what we updated, fixed and changed, plus anything we recommend next.

Pricing & FAQ
Website support packages and pricing.®
Plans are quoted as a fixed monthly fee after a short call and a look at your site, so you know the cost before we start.
What do your website maintenance services include?
Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, security housekeeping, content changes, fixes and a monthly report, all listed in your plan before we start.
How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the platform, the number of plugins or apps and how many changes you need each month. You get a fixed monthly quote after a short call.
Do you look after sites you didn't build?
Yes. An onboarding audit shows us how the site is put together, then we take over updates, fixes and changes.
Which platforms do you support?
Framer, WordPress, Shopify and Wix are our main platforms, and we also look after Webflow and Squarespace. Your plan is written for the platform you use.
How quickly do you respond to problems?
Urgent issues, such as the site being down or a checkout failing, are dealt with as a priority. Routine changes are usually completed within a few working days.
Can we change our plan later?
Yes. Plans can be adjusted as your needs change, and if you move on we make sure you have the logins, files and backups you need.
Do Framer, Shopify and Wix sites need maintenance?
Yes, though the work is different. On hosted platforms it's mostly content updates, checking forms and links, reviewing Shopify apps and restoring an earlier version if an edit goes wrong.
What do your website support packages report on?
Updates applied, issues found and fixed, changes made and what we recommend next, such as a speed fix or a page that needs refreshing.
