How our Google Ads agency runs your account
When a Google Ads agency is worth it
A Google Ads agency earns its fee when people already search for what you sell and each new customer is worth more than the clicks it takes to win them. That often includes local service businesses, B2B firms that win work through quotes, and online brands.
For local businesses we target the areas you actually cover, and Google lets you choose whether ads reach people physically in those areas or people who have shown interest in them. Call assets add a phone number to your ads, and can be scheduled to show only when someone is there to answer.
Google search ads, match types and negative keywords
Search campaigns are where most of our pay-per-click management starts, and it is where a good PPC agency proves its value. Exact match gives the most control over which searches trigger your ads, phrase match reaches searches that include the meaning of your keyword, and broad match reaches related searches too. Google says broad match works best with Smart Bidding, so we only open it up once conversion tracking is reliable.
Negative keywords stop ads showing for searches that won't buy, such as jobs or DIY terms. Google's own guidance is that negatives don't match close variants, so we add plurals and synonyms by hand. Each responsive search ad can carry up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and we pin the lines that must always appear.
Conversion tracking comes first
Bidding is only as good as the data it learns from. We track form submissions with the Google tag, turn on call reporting so calls from ads count as conversions, and keep auto-tagging switched on so clicks can be matched to results.
If sales happen offline, Google Ads can import conversions from your CRM, so campaigns are judged on enquiries that became customers.
Quality Score and landing page experience
Quality Score is a 1 to 10 rating made up of expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. Google is clear that it is a diagnostic tool, not an input in the ad auction, so we use it to spot weak ad groups rather than chase the number.
Landing page experience depends on the page, not the account. Google recommends pages that closely match the ad and keyword, work well on mobile and make calling or enquiring quick, which is why we often pair campaigns with our landing page design service.
Where Performance Max fits
Performance Max is a goal-based campaign that runs across YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign. It needs clear conversion goals, good text, image and video assets, and audience signals to learn from.
Search campaigns with an exact match keyword are prioritised over Performance Max for that search, so we use the two together rather than handing everything to automation. For lead generation we often prove search works first, then test Performance Max.
Reporting, and what to have ready
You get regular reports on a schedule we agree with you, in plain English, covering spend, conversions and cost per enquiry or return on ad spend, with the changes we made and why. Weighing SEO against PPC? Our SEO and growth marketing service uses the same keyword data.
To start, we need access to Google Ads and Analytics, a list of the services and areas you want to win, and a rough idea of what a good lead is worth. Law firms can read our page on Google Ads for law firms first.

Pricing & FAQ
Google Ads management pricing.®
Google Ads management is a fixed monthly fee, set according to your ad spend and agreed after a call. We don't take a percentage of spend. You pay your ad spend straight to Google, so you always see what the media itself costs.
How much does Google Ads management cost?
We charge a fixed monthly management fee, set according to your ad spend and agreed after a call. We don't take a percentage of spend, and you pay your ad spend directly to Google.
How much should we spend on Google Ads?
It depends on search volume, competition and what a new customer is worth to you. We set a starting budget from keyword research, then increase it where the numbers justify it.
What does a Google Ads agency do each month?
We review search terms, add negative keywords, adjust bids and budgets, test new ads and check tracking still works. You get regular reports on a schedule we agree with you, showing what it cost and what it brought in.
Which types of Google Ads campaign do you manage?
Search campaigns first for most service businesses, because they reach people actively looking. We also run Performance Max, Shopping, Display and YouTube campaigns where they suit your goals.
How quickly will Google Ads bring in enquiries?
Ads can start showing once approved, so traffic can begin soon after launch. Optimising properly takes a few weeks of conversion data to work from.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. The account is set up in your name, or we work in one you already own, so you keep full access and all of its history if you ever move on.
How do you measure results?
We track forms, calls and sales as conversions, then report cost per enquiry or return on ad spend in plain English, on a schedule we agree with you.
Should we invest in SEO or Google Ads first?
Google Ads buys visibility now, for as long as you pay for clicks. SEO takes longer but keeps working. You can run ads while SEO grows.
