When to hire a content marketing agency

A content marketing agency makes sense when your buyers research before they enquire and your website doesn't answer their questions. It suits B2B firms, professional services and specialist trades, where trust is built before the first call.

It is less useful if your site has no clear service pages yet. In that case, start with website copywriting, then build content on top.

It also works best as a steady habit rather than a burst. A few well-researched pieces a month, kept up for a year, tend to do more than a large batch published once and left alone.

What Google means by helpful content

Google's guidance asks whether content offers original information or analysis, shows first-hand expertise and depth of knowledge, and is written or reviewed by someone who knows the topic well. It also says plainly that Google has no preferred word count.

We take that literally. Guides draw on your team's real experience, say who wrote or reviewed them, and run as long as the subject needs and no longer.

Guides, articles and case studies

Guides answer the bigger questions buyers ask before choosing a supplier: cost, process, risk and how options compare. Shorter articles cover narrower questions and link back to the relevant guide and service page.

Case studies do the persuading. We talk to the people involved, set out the problem, the work and the outcome, and only state results you can back up.

Volume should follow the business, not a quota. Denver Electrical's 50 articles each answer a question customers ask before hiring an electrician, and Mould Matters' 26 guides cover what people need to know before calling a specialist.

Distribution on LinkedIn and email

Publishing is half the job. Each piece is cut into LinkedIn posts for your company page and key people, plus a section for your newsletter, so existing contacts see it the week it goes live.

Our email marketing and social media management services can run those channels for you, or we hand over ready-to-post copy for your team.

For B2B content marketing, posts from named people can feel more personal than company updates. We draft them in each person's voice and keep the link back to the full piece.

Refreshing the content you already have

Older posts often hold rankings that are slowly slipping. We review them against current search results, update facts and examples, and merge posts that compete for the same search. Where one post is clearly weaker, we redirect it to the stronger page.

Google lists changing dates to make pages seem fresh, without substantially changing them, as a warning sign. So a date only moves when the content has genuinely been updated.

How we measure content marketing services

We report organic clicks and impressions from Search Console, engagement by piece, and enquiries where your analytics can attribute them. Content and SEO share one keyword map, so articles support the service pages you want to rank.

Bring access to your analytics and Search Console, any existing content, and an hour with the people who answer customer questions. Their knowledge is what makes the content worth reading.

Pricing & FAQ

Content marketing pricing.®

Content marketing is scoped by volume, depth of research and how much distribution you need, then quoted as a fixed monthly fee or a fixed project fee after a short call.

What does a content marketing agency do?

It plans what to publish, researches and writes it, gets it in front of the right people and measures what it brings in. A good content marketing agency ties every piece back to a service you sell.

How much does content marketing cost?

It depends on how many pieces you need, how much research each one takes and whether we handle distribution. We agree the scope and quote a fixed monthly or project fee after a short call.

How do you decide what to write about?

We combine keyword research with the questions your customers ask your team, check what already ranks, and prioritise topics closest to a buying decision.

Who writes the content?

We research and draft each piece. On technical or regulated topics, an expert from your side reviews it before it goes live, and can be credited as author or reviewer.

How long does content marketing take to work?

Results usually build over months rather than weeks. Pieces sent by email or shared on LinkedIn can bring readers sooner, while search traffic grows as pages earn trust.

Can you repurpose content for social and email?

Yes. One guide can become several LinkedIn posts, a newsletter section and talking points for your sales team.

Do you use AI to write content?

AI tools may help with research or outlines, but people write, edit and fact-check everything we publish. Google's spam policies cover using generative AI to produce many pages without adding value for users.

Do you update old content?

Yes. Refreshing a post that once performed is often quicker than writing a new one. We update facts, examples and structure, and only change the date when the content has genuinely changed.
